Rakeback FAQS PDF Print E-mail

What is rake?
Rake is a charge which poker rooms charge players for playing at their poker site.  If you play a poker tournament online then you will usually see the entry fee displayed with an additional amount, for example $10 + $1.  The $1 is rake and the poker room collects this whilst the $10 goes into the prize pool you're playing for.

When you're playing for at the cash tables, after a pot has been created the poker room takes a percentage of the pot as rake.  The amount taken as rake varies between poker sites, but it's usually around 5%.  Therefore a $10 pot would see the poker room collecting $0.50 in rake.

What is Rakeback?
Rakeback is a percentage of the rake you've paid over a specific period being repaid directly to you.  As an authorised rakeback provider we ensure that you get the highest possible rakeback percentage back from online poker rooms.  Most rake back offers are around 30%, which in real terms means that if you've paid $1000 in rake, you will receive a repayment of $300 directly into your poker account.

Why would a poker room give me some of their rake back?
The amount of rake you pay over to a poker room can accumulate very quickly and due to the competitve nature of the online poker industry, poker sites are constantly coming up with new methods of attracting and retaing players.  Full Tilt Poker is probably the largest room to offer rakeback and has significantly increased it's market share through contracting with rakeback providers such as ourselves.

How will I receive my rakeback?
Your rakeback is usually paid directly into your poker account, however a couple of the poker sites we contract with ask Rakeback Dock to make the rakeback transfer

How often will I receive my rake back?
Generally speaking rakeback is paid monthly following the end of a calendar month.  Some sites now make daily rakeback payments, some weekly, some fortnightly.  It differs from site-to-site but full details are listed in each of our reviews.

How much rakeback can I earn?
The only limitation to how much rakeback you can earn is down to yourself.  If you multi-table $2/$4 6-max cash games for 8 hours every day, then you're going to earn far more than if you played one 10c/20c cash game for 2 hours per week.  Use our Rakeback Calulator to see how much money you are currently missing out on.

Will clearing a bonus affect my rakeback?
This depends which poker site you sign up with. This information is stated next to each rakeback offer.

How do I know how much rakeback I have earned?
Simply login to your member’s area and choose the appropriate poker site & month to see how much rakeback you have earned

I have played lots but do not seem to have enough rakeback showing?
The rakeback stats from the poker rooms are usually 24-48 hours behind real time in some cases longer. If you still think the information is incorrect please contact support and we'll contact the room and get back to you as soon as possible.

I have played a bit and rake is showing in my members area, yet I have not received my rakeback payment, why is this?
A couple of the poker sites have minimum rake levels, which have to be reached before they pay your rakeback.  The limits are usually quite low and reaching them is not a problem even for micro-stakes players.  In the event that your rake at a site is lower than the minimum level, it’ll simply carry forward and be added onto your next month’s rake.  Minimum Rake levels are clearly displayed within each poker site review.  [reviews]

I have negative rakeback showing - Why is that?
Some poker sites levy a charge against you for making deposits or withdrawals.  Although this doen't come out of your online poker balance, rakeback players can sometimes suffer minor charges against their rakeback by the poker site.  If you have any specific queries, be sure to tell us and we'll get you a definitive answer asap.

Can I sign up to as many poker sites as I like?
Yes! However you can only have one account per poker site.

What if I already have an account with the poker room?
Unfortunately poker rooms do not allow more than one account per person for security reasons. However we have many sites to choose from all with superb rakeback offers. Some sites within the same network allow you to sign up under a different skin. Please contact support if you have any further questions.

Can I refer friends to your site?
Of course you can, please check out our generous rakeback referral scheme by clicking here

What does it cost me to sign up with Rakeback Dock?
Absolutely nothing – it’s free to join us and free to join the poker sites

So what does Rakeback Dock get out of it?
We get a small percentage in return for bringing new players to their poker sites, so everyone benefits.

Is the percentage you guys at Rakeback Dock receive deducted from my rakeback?
Absolutely NOT.  All of our rakeback deals are paid directly into your poker accounts by the poker sites themselves, with our percentage being paid directly to us.
